Zeds Dead & Funkin Matt Remix Biicla's Deeper

We're all about feeling good at Heartbeat Lyfe. That is exactly what we got from this Zeds Dead and Funkin Matt collab. The original, Biicla - Deeper (feat. Modeness) is a melodic track, with influences from mid tempo, indie dance, bass house, and even progressive house. It is a mixture of piano, synth leads and a wall of bass. The vocals from male artist Modeness, brings the track full circle with the potential to be a pop hit.

The Zeds Dead and Funkin Matt remix took Biicla's track to the next level. Released on Proximity (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3ifTl5zKiCAhHIBQYcaTeg), Zeds Dead and Funkin Matt pushed the tempo, making the song faster, heavier, and more melodic. They used the same melody from the original but played it on their own synth. They added high energy house drums, and distorted the bass turning the track in to a melodic bass house banger. They even made the track more unique to their style by pitching up the vocals.

Zedd's dead started releasing music in 2009. The Toronto based duo quickly became a staple name in the bass music world. All their songs have one thing common - super melodic with heavy sound design. They collaborated with big artists including Diplo, Twin Shadow, Pusha T, & many more. In 2016, in addition to releasing their debut album Northern Lights, they launched their own record label. Deadbeats Records has been one of dance music's biggest independent labels, giving a platform to PEEKABOO, Subtronics, 1788-L and many others.

Funkin Matt has been known in the house world since 2007. He has released music on dance labels such as Fool's Gold Records, Mad Decent, Musical Freedom, Spinnin' Armada & Dim Mak. He's even done remixes for major labels including Sony, Warner, & Universal. Funkin Matt's official remix to Mariah Carey's Your Mine went #1 on the Billboard Dance Chart. His music is packed with groovy drums, catchy vocals, and epic melody. Deeper was a great song for Zeds dead and Funkin Matt to remix because it had enough elements to build off of but also left space for them to add their spice to it. You can certainly hear the influences from both collaborators.

You can't have a great remix without a great original. Be on the look out for more Biicla's tunes. Until then, Enjoy this great remix in the link below.
